Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Rekod mobile application and website operated by Deploid ("we", "us", "our"). By using Rekod, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Rekod is a personal expense tracking application. It allows you to log expenses using natural language, set budgets, create savings goals, and view spending analytics. An optional Business add-on may be available in the future.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Rekod. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any account credentials. Your data is stored on your device. If you enable Cloud Backup, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
  • Transmit malicious code or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems.

5. AI-Powered Features

Rekod uses AI to categorise your expense entries. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated categorisations may occasionally be incorrect. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting your expense data. Rekod is not a financial advisor.

6. Pricing

Rekod Personal is free with unlimited expense logging, savings goals, and spending analytics. We may introduce paid features or add-ons in the future. We will always notify you before charging anything and will never auto-enrol you into a paid plan.

7. Data & Privacy

Your use of Rekod is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Your expense data is stored locally on your device. Cloud Backup data is encrypted before leaving your device.

8. Availability

We aim to keep Rekod available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes that temporarily affect availability. Since your data is stored on your device, core functionality works offline.

9. Limitation of Liability

Rekod is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deploid shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability shall not exceed RM 100.

10. Termination

You may stop using Rekod at any time by deleting the app. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to Cloud Backup services if you violate these Terms, with reasonable notice where possible.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of Rekod after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
